The Adelaide City Robotics Club meets every Saturday afternoon from 1.30pm to 4pm, and Wednesday nights from 6.30 to 8pm in the basement at the WEA Learning Centre, 223 Angas Street, Adelaide. $20 per session.
During our club sessions, members can engage in building their own individual projects using the facilities available in our purpose-built room with other like-minded enthusiasts. There are also options to collectively explore the creation of new projects which can be used in future science displays or just for fun!
It is a safe and inclusive place for like-minds to get together to share experiences and ideas. Working on projects is self-directed and while there are usually experienced mentors on hand, support is not always guaranteed. Bookings not required.
If you would like to make a small donation (between $10 – $100) towards our club and organisation, we would very much appreciate your generosity.
2026 Robotics for Good Competition
Robotics for Good was a competition run by the Australian AI Olympiad: https://www.aaio.com.au/robotics-for-good-journey
Our team of 4 budding engineers designed and built a Weed Detecting bot with the following features;
Jerry is a car that can drive around and detect weeds.
It used FastAI for a basic image classifier on an RPi Zero 2W.
All prints were PLA, except for the TPU tyres.
Using a 2S LiPo battery.
Servo was never implemented (or plugged in…)
Two voltage regs, one for 6v for motors, the other for 5v to run the Pi. The Pi had a bunch of caps stuck on the 5v rail to reduce ripple.
